The OA's Purpose 

To recognize those Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.

To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit.

To provide service to others, both inside and outside of the Scouting America program.

To crystalize the Scout’s developed habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of cheerfulness, leadership and service to others.
