As a member of the OA in your Lodge and Sehwatu Chapter, you are able to participate in one of a kind, exclusive Catawba Lodge and Section E7 events (such as Conclave!!), OA national events and high adventure treks!! These are functions only open to Arrowmen, including Sehwatu Chapter! In addition, you will make meaningful friendships with Arrowmen in other units who you may not interact with during the traditional Unit, Crew or Sea Scout Ship program. A more relaxed schedule allows you to customize your experience and chase new adventures. There is something for everyone and you are sure to make memories that will last a lifetime!! Here are just a few of the events the Order of the Arrow has to offer.
Spring and Fall Fellowship held every March and October at Belk Scout Camp. These annual gatherings are the time where Sehwatu Chapter competes in different games called quest events against the other two Chapters in Catawba Lodge with the goal of obtaining the ultimate coveted prize, the Green Arrow!! There are patches, auctions and campfires! In addition, Lodge and Sehwatu Chapter elections are held at the Fall Fellowship event. This is a great opportunity for leadership and to put your stamp on the Sehwatu Chapter.
Sehwatu Chapter Summer Fellowship!! This is an annual gathering of Arrowmen in Sehwatu Chapter. Typically, it is an August weekend outing, such as a high adventure trip, camping trip or recreational activity where you get to have a fun experience with your fellow Chapter Memberers and forge bonds of Brotherhood. Past trips have included swimming at Carrigan Farms Quarry in Mooresville,NC, the trampoline park at Urban Air in Cornelius,NC and go-karting at the Speedpark located at Concord Mills Mall in Concord,NC!
Cornerstone Conclave, held every year by the Eastern Region of the OA! It is hosted by one of the nine Lodges in our section. At this event, the nine Order of the Arrow Lodges in our Section compete in quest events to win the Golden Arrow! There are games, patch auctions, carnivals, outstanding training sessions and friendships with Arrowmen across the region!!
NOAC! This national OA event is held every few years at a collegiate institution. There are world-class training sessions, awe-inspiring shows and so much more. This is truly an unforgettable week full of fellowship with Arrowmen from across the nation!!
During our Induction Weekends, there are several ways in which Sehwatu Arrowmen can give service and have so much fun all at once! Have you ever been curious about what it is like to bring the personas of ceremonial characters to life? Join the Catawba Lodge Ceremonies team!! Musically inclined? Join the Lodge dance, drum or flute teams! Ready to ignite your burning passion for OA? Join the Catawba Lodge Fire Rats! Perhaps you would like to help those aspiring Arrowmen achieve membership in the Order of the Arrow. The Lodge Elangomat and Nimat teams are great ways to get involved. Whatever your interest, Induction Weekends are a great way to get involved while providing cheerful service and giving back to the Lodge Ordeal program that helped you on your path to becoming a member of the OA.
